Participation Technologies | Final Documents for the Hacker Residency
The collective CivicWisehas published an overview of its time at the #HackerResidency, an
initiative launched by Participa LAB
We are very pleased to present the
work and results of the Hacker
Residency, a project coordinated by CivicWise
in late 2016 and launched by ParticipaLAB,
the Collective Intelligence for Democracy Lab at
(Madrid), with the aim of researching and developing new ideas on
participation and citizen innovation.
The international workshop #CIDemocracy-
Collective Intelligence for
Democracyorganised by ParticipaLab
at MediaLab Prado
in late November 2016produces
tangible results. 15 days, 8 interdisciplinary groups, 80
participants from 30 countries and 4 continents.
Developed over the course of two weeks,
each project was based on a specific concept. During the time spent
together working as a group, the coordinators of each project
analysed, questioned, redefined, formatted and prototyped, until they
arrived at a result. Only open-source software. Eight digital citizen
participation tools to facilitate a more deliberative democracy: the
democracy of the future. Created by nearly one hundred people.
They didn’t know each other. The last
few days were extremely hectic. Come and see. This is the result.
